Bridges Papers at the National Maritime Museum
A list of the papers of Paymster Lieutenant Albert F. B. Bridges in the possession of the National Maritime Museum, London.
The papers were presented by A. F. B. Bridges in 1973 and 1982. They consist of a journal, 1912 to 1918; pocket diaries, 1918 to 1920, kept while in the Mediterranean and Black Sea; and a photograph and scrap album belonging to his brother, William M Bridges mainly relating to the surrender of the German fleet, 21 Nov 1918. Related photographs and artifacts are held by the Departments of Pictures and Weapons & Antiquities.
Journal 15 Jul 1912-20 May 1918 in ships NEPTUNE, PRINCESS ROYAL, ERIN, BENBOW, NEW ZEALAND and HERCULES, mainly in home waters with the 4th Battle Squadron with photographs, cuttings and ephemera including notes on the Jutland as seen from BENBOW and an abstract of ships' accounts of the Battle of the Falkland Islands (formerly JOD/140/1)
