Admiral SIR Brian Herbert Fairburn Barttelot, K.B.E., C.B., C.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (13 December, 1867 – 4 February, 1942) was an officer of the Royal Navy in the First World War.

Life & Career

Barttelot was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 April, 1889.[1]

Barttelot was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1901.[2]

Barttelot was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1906.[3]

Barttelot was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, of the Civil Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 1 January, 1917.[4]

He took command of the battleship Resolution on 1 November, 1917.[5]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 26 August, 1918, vice Henderson.[6]

Barttelot was appointed Admiral-Superintendent of Malta Dockyard on 1 November, 1918.[7]

On 1 November, 1923 he was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral, vice Oliver, and placed on the Retired List the following day.[8] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 August, 1927.[9]
