Commander (retired) Bertram Owen Frederick Phibbs, R.N. (2 January, 1875 – 19 February, 1952) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Phibbs was specially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 25 May, 1897 for his service on the Benin Expedition.

Phibbs was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 25 May, 1905.

Phibbs was appointed to Coast Guard positions from March 1913 to January, 1919, being granted the acting rank of Commander on 27 November, 1917.

Post-War

Phibbs was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander (retired) on 27 January, 1919.

Phibbs offered his services in the second World War, but was apparently not taken up.
