Vice-Admiral Arthur Lionel Snagge (4 May, 1878 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Snagge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1900.[1]

Snagge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.[2]

Snagge was appointed as Naval Attache to Washington, DC on 21 May, 1918. He was superseded on 1 October, 1919 and arrived back in England on 23 November where he took up work in the Naval Intelligence Division on 1 December.[3]

Snagge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1919.[4]

Captain Snagge was appointed in command of the destroyer Glowworm on 1 August, 1920 and as Senior Captain, Danube Flotilla.[5]

In March, 1923, Snagge was appointed in command of the light cruiser Ceres.
