Vice-Admiral (retired) Arthur Kenneth Macrorie, C.M.G., M.V.O. (6 June, 1874 – 25 November, 1947) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Macrorie was raised by Captain (later Admiral Sir) Acland.[1]

Macrorie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1896.[2]

Macrorie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1907.[3]

Great War

Macrorie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 24 April, 1914.[4]

Post-War

Macrorie was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 September, 1924.[5]

Macrorie was appointed Captain of Juno on 1 August, 1914.[6]

In June 1915, he assumed command of the first class protected cruiser Theseus. He left the ship in August 1918.

He commanded Emperor of India from November 1922 until May 1924.

Macrorie was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 1 August, 1929.[7]

Macrorie's funeral took place on 29 November at Aldinbourne, Chichester. The Reverend H. A. King officiated.
