Captain R.N.R. SIR Arthur James Baxter, K.B.E., D.S.C., R.D. (28 February, 1890 – 31 December, 1951) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Born in Norwich, Norfolk.

Baxter was appointed as Acting Lieutenant, R.N.R. in Command of the destroyer Opossum on 4 April, 1916 and then re-appointed in July, 1917.[1]

Baxter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 July, 1916.[2]

Post-War

Baxter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 July, 1924.[3]

Baxter was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. with a seniority of 30 June, 1931.[4]

World War II

Baxter was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 30 June, 1939.[5]

He was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 28 February, 1945.[6]
