Commander Arthur Henry Seymour Casswell, D.S.C., R.N., Retired (8 October, 1892 – 29 October, 1940) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of H. Casswell, Esq., gentleman, passed out of the naval Training Establishment on 15 May, 1910 and was appointed to the battlecruiser Inflexible of the First Cruiser Squadron.

On 15 September, 1912, Casswell was promoted to Acting Sub-Lieutenant.[1]

Casswell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1915.

Casswell was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the destroyer Owl on 5 October, 1918.[2]

Post-War

Qualified for gunnery duties in destroyers and flotilla leaders in July, 1921.

Casswell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1923.

Casswell was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 5 September, 1937.
