Captain Arthur Charles Fawssett, D.S.O., R.N., Retired (23 November, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy. The Royal Navy wrongly thought his last name was spelled with one "s" before Fawssett called to correct the matter on 19 June, 1941.

Life & Career

Fawssett's father was Reverend Rich A. Fawssett of The Rectory in Broadstairs.

Fawssett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1905.

Fawssett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1913.

Fawssett was appointed in command of the monitor M.26 on 25 July, 1918.[1]

Post-War

Fawssett was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1919.

Fawssett was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 19 June, 1922.

Fawssett was promoted to the rank of Captain on 23 November, 1928.
