Lieutenant-Commander Alexander Maitland Donovan, D.S.C., R.N. (7 May, 1892 – 20 April, 1932) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Donovan was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant on 15 November, 1912.[1]

Donovan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1914.

Donovan was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 3 on 1 January, 1918.[2]

Donovan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1922.

In early 1932, Donovan was admitted to Haslar Hospital for observation, suffering from gastritis. He died on 20 April and was buried in Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery.
