Rear-Admiral Albert Sumner Lafone, C.B.E., F.R.Z.S., Royal Navy, Retired (14 October, 1863 – 26 December, 1933) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Lafone was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant dated 30 June, 1886.[1]

He was appointed in command of the destroyer Havock on 14 January, 1896.[2]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander dated 30 June, 1899.[3]

Lafone was promoted to the rank of Captain dated 30 June, 1905.[4]

In 1907, he was placed in command of the first class protected cruiser Ariadne.[5]

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, on 6 April, 1908.[6]
