Robert John Harness

Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Robert John Harness, M.B.E., R.N. (14 February, 1866 – 17 July, 1927) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Harness was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 19 February, 1894.

Harness was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 26 October, 1911.

Harness was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 May, 1916.

Harness was appointed in command of Seahorse from 13 February, 1918 to 8 July, 1919 when he was appointed to Victory in for command of the trawler Culbasin, the former German prize Nereus.

Post-War

Harness retired at his own request upon his relief in command of Culbasin on 5 October, 1920.

Harness was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 1 May, 1924.
