Philip Somerville

Commander Philip Somerville, D.S.O.*, D.S.C.* (5 December, 1906 – 4 April, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Somerville was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 16 April, 1929.

Somerville was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 16 April, 1937.

Somerville was appointed in command of the Template:UK-Kingston in July 1939 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1941. He died when she was bombed in the dock at Valetta Harbour in April, 1942.
