Henry Hutchinson Robson

Commander (retired) Henry Hutchinson Robson, (24 January, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve before transferring into the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of W. H. Robson, Esq..

Robson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 December, 1918.

Robson was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 31 October, 1922 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 22 December, 1926.

World War II

His stints in command of Capetown were sporadic and temporary, interleaving with an overarching command appointment held by an ailing Captain Percival H. G. James.

Robson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 September, 1945.

He commanded the aircraft carrier Perseus, vice Robert Eric Gunston, in the acting rank of Cdr. (retired) from 18 December, 1946 to 3 February, 1948.
