Service

In mid-December 1895, she departed Devonport to undergo trials of new Du Temple boilers in the English Channel.[6] These trials would be prolonged, and continue beyond mid-February, 1896 when she recorded 3,700 indicated horsepower for 19 knots on a four hour full power trial.[7] She passed into "A" Division of the Fleet Reserve at the end of April, and was earmarked to relieve either Sheldrake or Salamander when they came in to receive similar boiler upgrades.[8]

In 1908, she and the four other survivors were taken in hand for conversion to minesweepers.[9]
