H.M.S. P14 was one of 44 patrol boats of the "P" class.

Service

Lt. Henry James Hartnoll was appointed to P14 during the final stages of her construction to assist in overseeing her completion, and which juncture he assumed command of the patrol boat.[5]

Hartnoll rescued an able-bodied seaman who had been knocked overboard by the recoil of a gun on 28 October, 1916 for which he was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal for lifesaving at sea in 1917.[6]

On 8 February 1917, P14 salvaged a wrecked aeroplane at night in a rough sea.[7]

She was one of four PC boats and nine P boats operating with Reserve Complement at Devonport in September, 1919.[8]

Reduced to C. & M. Party at Devonport on 29 October, 1919.[9]
