Service

In mid-1913, she was with the Third Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

On 5 February 1918, Grasshopper, Mosquito and Pigeon were escorting a convoy when the Anchor Line/Cunard troopship SS Tuscania was torpedoed and sunk in the North Channel, off Islay by UB 77 as the convoy approached Liverpool. Grasshopper assisted in the rescue operations, saving between 500 and 600 men.[8]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

There seems to be some confusion about Ovenden.
