H.M.S. B 8 was one of eleven "B" class coastal submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

By March 1915, the submarine had joined three other "B" class boats in the Mediterranean Submarine Flotilla.

In October, she left with B 7 and B 9 to the British Adriatic Squadron. At a time when it coastal submarines were enjoying ever-less utility, the Adriatic was well-suited to operations by such handy boats.
