Christopher Henry Petrie

Commander (retired) Christopher Henry Petrie, R.N. (18 April, 1889 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Herts.

Petrie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1911.

Petrie was appointed in command of the destroyer Miranda in March, 1917.[1]

Petrie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1919.

Petrie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 18 April, 1929.

Petrie was appointed in temporary command of the armed merchant cruiser Cormorin on 30 September, 1939.

Petrie was granted the acting rank of Captain in November, 1939 and appointed in command of the armed merchant cruiser Bulolo on her commissioning.
