Subjects include reports of his activities, acknowledgement of letters from home, requests for and discussion of money and updates on the actions of ships he was serving on.

Folder containing various letters and some envelopes written to him (Archibald Milne) between 1879 and 1892 including a Christmas card and a copy of a telegram congratulating him on a recent promotion. also includes an envelope containing three 'Game Cards' recording game killed by a party including the then Commander A. Milne and the Prince of Wales at Sandringham 20-22 January 1891 and a series of letters concerning a disagreement between two officers.

Folder containing various letters written to him (Archibald Milne) between 1900 and 1936 including a Minute of Agreement dated 1 February 1900 between Sir Berkeley Milne and a Mr R C Menzies concerning rent. Letters concerning an excerpt of the Pall Mall gazette attached to a postcard which the Prince and Princess of Wales wanted to bring to his attention dated 3-4 July 1900 concerning what was deemed an act of slander by a Mr W W Astor. Further letters from friends and members of the Naval & Military Club as well as newspaper clippings detailing the Prince of Wales and societies reaction to this slander are also included. Also includes letters from the admiralty and lord chamberlains office as well as a typed letter concerning his continued service to the Royal family at the beginning of King George VI's reign.

Letters regarding Milne family genealogy in 1910 with particular attention to a David Milne with rough family tree and sketch of a grave and a letter concerning support for the descendents of an illegitimate daughter of his grandfather. A letter from the admiralty informing him of his promotion to the rank of Admiral, 20 September 1911.

Folder containing various letters written to him (Archibald Milne) in 1914 concerning activities in the mediterranean fleet and his time aboard HMS INFLEXIBLE in the early part of the First World War. Also contains official letters from the admiralty concerning his failure to bring the German ships GOEBEN and BRESLAU to battle dated 24-27 August 1914, also includes a letter from Churchill informing him that he would now not be taking command of the NORE to which his appointment had previously been announced publicly.
