It's a fairly standard treatment from Indiana University Press. It references Massie's "Castles of Steel" and more academic references but apart from more detail on things like the German torpedo boats and mine sweepers, there is nothing all that new here. It may be somebody's expanded doctoral thesis because it's a bit bloodless. The main text is (only) 120 pages which includes a few maps that may help set up a war gaming scenario...but nothing inspiring. I probably would have been more enthusiastic had I bought it at the Amazon price instead of off the shelf at Borders.
