Visited HMS Caroline in Belfast yesterday (Caroline subclass of C class light cruisers) last surviving Jutland veteran. Anyone else visited her? Thoughts? |

I'd be curious to hear from others on this.
I wish they could have seen fit to remove the accommodation structure from her, and to install some replica guns.

HMS Caroline was one of 28 C-class light cruisers built by the Royal Navy between 1914 and 1917. There were seven sub-groups in the C-class named after the first ship in each sub-group, being Caroline, Calliope, Cambrian, Centaur, Caledon, Ceres and Carlisle. There were only minor differences in hull shape and armament between these producton blocks. All 28 were designed and built for the rough conditions of the North Sea, and all proved rugged and capable ships, serving with distinction. |
